AI visibility baseline
We test how ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity answer the buying questions in your category today — who they name, how they describe you, and why.
GEO — Generative Engine Optimisation
When a customer asks ChatGPT 'who's the best fit-out company in Abu Dhabi?', the AI doesn't show ten blue links. It names two or three businesses — with confidence. GEO is the discipline of making sure you're one of them.
Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) is the practice of making a business visible, accurately described and recommended inside AI assistant answers — in tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Perplexity. When a customer asks an assistant for a recommendation, the AI names only a handful of businesses, so inclusion is winner-take-most: a business the model does not know simply never appears. GEO works on the signals models actually use — clear, citable website content; structured data and consistent business information across the web; mentions on sources the models treat as trustworthy; and technical access for AI crawlers, including an llms.txt file. It complements traditional SEO but targets a different surface: the answer itself rather than a results page. Bishop Digital provides GEO for UAE businesses, starting with a baseline audit of how AI assistants currently answer the buying questions in a client category, then engineering their way into those answers.
The problem
Buying behaviour has quietly shifted. A growing share of your customers no longer start with a Google search — they ask an AI assistant, describe their situation, and get a direct recommendation. ChatGPT alone handles billions of prompts a week, and 'who should I use for…' is one of the most common commercial questions it gets.
Here's what makes this brutal: AI answers are winner-take-most. A search results page has ten spots and a map pack; an AI answer names a handful of businesses, full stop. If the model doesn't know you exist — or knows you but has nothing confident to say — you're not ranked lower. You're simply absent, and the customer never knows you were an option.
The models build those answers from what they can read and verify: your site's structure and clarity, how consistently you're described across the web, whether trusted sources mention you, whether your expertise is published anywhere citable. All of that can be engineered. Very few businesses are doing it yet — which is exactly why the ones that start now will be the default answers in their market for years.
Sound familiar?
Ask ChatGPT or Gemini for recommendations in your category and city — you're not in the answer.
Worse: your competitors are, and they're getting described in glowing terms.
When AI does mention you, it gets the details wrong — old services, wrong location, stale story.
Organic search traffic is sliding as more answers get given before the click.
Your website was built for humans and Google — never checked for how machines read it.
Nobody in the business has ever tested how AI describes you. It's a blind spot.
What we do differently
We test how ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity answer the buying questions in your category today — who they name, how they describe you, and why.
Clear claims, real numbers, quotable answers. We restructure your content so a model can lift it, trust it and attribute it.
Structured data and consistent business information everywhere, so machines know exactly who you are, what you do and where.
Mentions in directories, publications and communities that models treat as trustworthy sources about your market.
The technical layer most sites get wrong: crawler permissions, llms.txt and clean rendering, so models can actually ingest your site.
AI answers move as models update. We re-test your visibility on a cycle and keep pushing your share of the answer up.
